Lost Gardens of Heligan  Near Mevagissey.  The award winning gardens are thought to be the largest garden restoration project in Europe.  57 acres of gardens lost for 70 years are being rediscovered and restored as a working Victorian garden.  Containing a crystal grotto, an Italian garden, summerhouse, rockery and four walled gardens, one containing a fully restored pineapple pit.  22 acre sub tropical garden with fine specimen trees including large collections of palms, bamboos and tree ferns.  A fascinating place!
