Despite its large number of rooms and despite being under the Best Western umbrella, this hotel has a very cosy feel. The gabled, cream coloured exterior with grey painted windows fronts the busy market place. A stone-clad archway leads to the courtyard entrance, and large palms in terracotta pots alert the visitor to the visual treats that await within.
The Chapman family have owned this 15thC building for over 40 years. Four years ago they decided to update and upgrade the hotel and the result is a stylish, colourful triumph. The restaurant adjacent to the reception and semi-circular bar at the entrance is a mix of soft green country checks, cream flagstones and rather dubious prints. Upstairs, a comfortable sitting room runs the length of the buildingTEL (01749) 672616 FAX (01749) 679670 |
