Linda and Ciro Zaino moved to the tip of Cornwall from London, where Ciro had managed some of the capital’s top restaurants, to open this restaurant-with-rooms in a Grade 11 listed Georgian house close to the sea front. They run it with great panache, reports our inspector, who considers it a ‘great find’. He describes it as Mediterranean in colour and feel, quirky in style and breezy in atmosphere. The former home of one of Cornwall’s leading naïve artists, the house is still full of paintings, indiosycratic furniture and lush pot plants. Downstairs there is a little cosy sitting room as well as the most important room in the building, the restaurant.Upstairs, the five simple bedrooms are highly individual with a diverse mix of family pieces and collectables.TEL (01736) 363744 FAX (01736) 360959 |
