| about |
This charming, sugar pink, listed Georgian house with a fenced front garden filled with roses is on a footpath leading to the churchyard of St Mary-the- Virgin. The church stands on top of the hill on which Rye is built, so it is quiet and secluded, away from the noise and traffic. It’s a warm and welcoming house, and the experienced Masters have built up a faithful following; not surprisingly, their self-imposed high standards of hospitality have been rightly recognised. Paul, a former hotelier, cooks and recently carried off a Best Breakfast in Britain competition with his hot scones, home-made jam, home-made yoghourt, local sausages and Romney Marsh mushroom morning spreads. Julia, who used to work for a tea importer, was recently a Landlady of the Year finalist.TEL (01797) 222119 FAX (01797) 227466 |
